School’s out for Summer!!!
It’s officially summer. May and most of June slipped by silently. At least silently in terms of this blog. I haven’t posted since the end of April. But, it is officially summer and I look forward to writing again.
It’s not that there haven’t been things to write about. Silas is getting to be a big boy and has grown into an age in which I can leave the room and know he’s alright for a minute. (At least I think I know he’s alright.) He’s a blast to be around and is much less needy. It’s great!
On the flip side, Silas just had to have an EEG because we think he may be having absence seizures. In addition, the day care and the doctor (more so the day care) think that Silas is exhibiting some “red flag” behaviors. Behaviors such as repetitive language, patternistic behavior, oversensitivity to other children’s outbursts, and the possibility of the seizures. We’ll speak with a neurolgist first and then may have a referral to a behavioral specialist. We, of course, think he’s just perfect so we’re not sure how to feel. I’m sure I’ll be writing more about that as it unfolds. In addition, Silas is scheduled for surgery on the 12th of July. He has an inguinal hernia (a hernia of the groin) and a branchial cleft cyst (see ‘Baby as Barbie and Birth Defects’) which will be removed. So, yeah, there’s been a bit of medical stress. I’ve just been feeling thankful that none of these things are really serious and hopeful that everything will work out okay.
Paul and I are getting along better. This Father’s Day has been nice. We’ve really been behaving like a family. Or at least like I think a family ought to behave. It’s nice. A relief.
School’s out for summer!!!
But, I’m still teaching summer school.
I’ll be done June 30th and then I can really play! I’m headed to my sister’s wedding in PA the next day. I’m planning her bachelorette party right now and am having trouble resisting all the funny penis decor. We’re not exactly rolling in dough, so I’m going to have to restrain myself somehow. (In fact, I was just interrupted by my co-conspirator Melisa with plans for an inflatable 6ft penis!)
So, yeah, now I can’t remember what I was writing about.
Essentially, I checked out Neil Gaiman’s blog on Goodreads and realized what a friend (that Melisa again) told me long ago– that I don’t have to write an in-depth essay every time I post. I can just write a little blurb to keep it going. So, that’s my summer commitment. I know I’ve disappointed you in the past. But, I resolve to resolve that issue. Please believe in me!
(I also resolve to figure out how to get pictures on this damn site! What is a blog and no pictures…)

I am SOOOOOOOO happy to see this post. And I am also SOOOOOOOO happy that things are going better — I have always had faith in your and your family. Sorry to distract you with my giant cock . You know how I am.
